Description:

To coordinate all government activities related to the attraction of international technical assistance, the implementation of technical assistance projects
To formulate ?the strategic and annual programmes? for the attraction of international technical assistance in accordance with State priorities for the social and economic development of Ukraine
To jointly participate in the formulation of the legal and regulatory framework for international technical assistance, in conjunction with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Justice and other ministries or State institutions eventually concerned.

The Directorate for Cooperation with European Union is functioning within the structure of the Ministry. One of the objectives of the Directorate is to serve the Ukrainian Government as a self-sustaining institution responsible for planning and coordination of the European Union External Assistance Programmes. In this context the Directorate performs the functions of the National Coordinating Unit of the EU aid programmes and instruments.
